Cierra’s Fight for Xeena
When life threw one challenge after another, Cierra never stopped fighting for her beloved dogs. After being injured at work and facing financial hardship, she was devastated to learn that 11-year-old Xeena had developed an oral mass.
Xeena and her brother Jaxx have been by Cierra’s side through every move, every job, every heartbreak, and every milestone since they were puppies.

Fig’s Narrow Escape
Fig is an 8-month-old kitten who was found outside with her brother Fern when they were only 4 weeks old. Her family has raised the two kittens with love and care, always doing their best to keep them happy and healthy.
When Fig suddenly became lethargic and started throwing up, her family rushed her to the emergency vet, where they discovered a dangerous blockage in her stomach that required surgery. As full-time students with tight finances, her owners were desperate to save their baby girl but didn’t know how they would afford the procedure.
When they reached out to Animals Staying Alive as a last-ditch effort, they received an answer in less than 24 hours — their request for assistance was approved.
Today, Fig is home recovering and slowly returning to her bright, playful, and affectionate self.
Teddy’s Miraculous Recovery
When 9-month-old Teddy was hit by a car at the end of her driveway, she suffered devastating injuries — her leg was broken in two places, and her pelvis was fractured and displaced on both sides. The prognosis was uncertain, and the extensive orthopedic surgery she needed felt impossible for her family to afford.
Thanks to the generosity of Animals Staying Alive supporters, Teddy received the specialized surgery at K-State — including plates in her pelvis and leg — giving her the best chance to keep her leg and recover.
Today, after a long recovery filled with restrictions, physical challenges, and even an MRSA infection that led to the amputation of a couple of toes, Teddy is a happy, joyful little girl once again.
