Our Purpose
Medical Care When It Matters Most
Animals Staying Alive, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping keep animals alive who might otherwise have had shorter lives or lived in pain because funds were not available to provide the veterinary care, medicine, or medical support needed to prolong their lives.

We raise funds to provide life-saving medical care to as many animals as possible whose owners cannot afford it.
Our Focus
Life-saving Care
Our team helps animals in medical crisis by providing funds directly to a veterinarian, veterinary specialist, or veterinary hospital for life-saving medical care when an owner has insufficient financial support to keep them alive or relieve their pain. We serve all types of animals across the USA and Canada, including homeless animals in shelters.

Our History
A Family's Wish
Animals Staying Alive, Inc. was founded in late 2016 by the Bawcoms of Austin, Texas. Devoted animal lovers, they could no longer accept a heartbreaking reality: every day, animals with treatable conditions are euthanized simply because their families cannot afford the care that would save them.
Determined to change this, the Bawcoms started small. They asked friends and family to make donations in place of traditional gifts for birthdays, holidays, and special occasions. What began as a quiet family effort quickly grew into something far greater.
They opened the invitation to all animal lovers, welcoming anyone who shared their passion to join the cause. From those first gifts of compassion, Animals Staying Alive was born. Our purpose is clear: to turn preventable losses into lasting hope and give animals in crisis the chance to stay alive and thrive.
